「当世ものゝ怪録」四巻　表紙・裏表紙

　オリジナル同人漫画の四冊目をkindleで電子出版した時の表紙と裏表紙のイラストです。
　両方とも紙に鉛筆でスケッチした後PCに取り込み、彩色しました。背景は一巻と同様、お菓子の包み紙を取り込んで加工したものです。

　雪女のキャラクターですが、一応ヒロイン的なポジションになるのでなるべくかわいくなるよう頑張りました。あまり妖怪っぽさはないですね。人間に興味があってその世界で暮らしてみたいと憧れている雪女、という設定なので洋服を着ていますが、最後に見た人間が終戦直後くらいなのでセンスや言葉遣いが見た目の割りに若干古い、という設定です。桜はフユザクラという種類で、冬でもポツポツ咲いている種類です。

　このキャラクターは表紙の女性キャラクターの弟で、人間と雪女の間に生まれたという設定です。生まれたのは江戸時代の末期ですが、それ以降は渡世人としてすさんだ流れ者の生活を送っていました。なるべく目立たないように、時代に合わせて流れ者として過ごしているので、作中の現代ではレザーのジャケットを着るなどしています。ちょうどこのころ「座頭市」にハマっていたのでそんな感じのキャラになりました。

Both of them, I drew sketches on papers using pencils, scanned, colored them in Painter, and composited them in CLIP STUDIO to complete them. The backgrounds are made from a sweets wrapper, that scanned and processed on PC, as same as ever.

She is a character of a spirit of snow. I tried to design her looks cute as a heroin of this story, and her looks is not very spectrally. She is a snow woman who has a lot of interest in human community, and want to live there, so she dresses in modern style. However, the last time she saw people was towards the end of WW2, so her sense and talks are a bit outdated compared of her appearance.
The cherry blossom is a kind of Fuyuzakura, it blooms some flowers in winter too.

This character is a younger brother of the woman in the cover illustration, and was born between a human and a snow woman. He was born in the end of Edo era and had lived a miserable life like a deracine as a gambler. In this story, he is wearing a leather jacket, ride a motorcycle, live a life according to times, for keeping his life inconspicuously and quietly. By the way I was into Zatoichi (The Blind Swordsman) in that time, so I think he became such kinda character.
