Painting Van Gogh

Through this oil painting of Van Gogh’s “Vase with Lilacs, Daisies and Anemones,” I would like to tell public a philosophy that I have in my mind. First, I would mention that painters such as Van Gogh have practiced and trained their eyes through seeing many colors so as a result of it they are able to discern the subtle tones of colors that are almost incredible to see for the average person. To explain this for example, suppose you walk in a field and see a beautiful flower blooming and find it is a violet flower. The moment you recognize, “oh this is a violet flower,” you actually will stop seeing the shape of the flower anymore. When the word "violet flower" comes into your heart, you close your eyes. "Noticing this is a violet flower" means "replacing the beautiful appearance and color of the flower into words." If you could keep looking at the beautiful shape of the flower without interruptions of words in your heart, the flower will reveal to you the beauty you have never seen before. I think painters such as Van Gogh look at the flowers in that way. They have been looking at the same flowers for many years. So the flower paintings created in such a way become almost nothing unless we see the flowers as the painters did!
