Hello newcomers, I guess doing MV for the first time is challenging, confusing, and mentally exhausting. Especially if you are not familiar with the tools that you used.
Even though there are so many After Effects tutorial, I believe there's only one tutorial specifically made for Utaite Chorus / CB.
But hey we gotta start somewhere right, and this is what I'm starting with: a group cover of Finale by XYZ. The original MV isn't to complex with my current motion graphic knowledge. But it sure was a challenge for me who only used to do movie editing without any knowledge in MoGraph
Anyway, Here's my workflow at that time
Do this in After Effects
1. Basically any thing that use character art with camera
2. Make the box and render it with green background
And in Vegas
1. Arranging the timing and the clip
2. Use the box I made and use chroma key
3. Do the transition
and if I can turn back time with my skills here's what I would note
1. Don't be afraid doing text in After Effects. I used to make it one layer per sentence, now I even use one layer per character or sometimes even per stroke
2. Don't forget to make your camera as a One Node Camera, unless you use null object or whatever that AMV tutorial is telling you
3. There's actually a free plugin called Animation Composer (the one with horse logo) use it but don't forget to at least learn the fundamentals of After Effect so you won't be dependent on that plugin
4. I'd just arrange all the parts in After Effects instead without using other program
Anyhow that's that, I've been learning motion graphic and making MV for 4 years. It's okay if your first creation isn't good, we have to start somewhere right
