【Opening Song】The Promise of a Starry Sky
When I started to write this song, the first thing that came to mind was the protagonists of the novel. Their pure love, longing for dreams, and curiosity about the unknown. I strongly wanted to express these things through music.
私がこの曲を作り始めたとき、まず頭に浮かんだのは小説の主人公たちの姿でした。彼らの純粋な愛、夢への憧れ、そして未知の世界への好奇心。これらを音楽で表現したいと強く思いました。
We also associated “You are my Andromeda” with the original “Summer Dream （Kanon）,” and decided to incorporate the titles of the two novels into the lyrics to create a song appropriate for our first collaboration.
「君は僕のアンドロメダ」の原作である「夏夢カノン」とも関連付けて、２つの小説のタイトルを歌詞に盛り込み、最初のコラボ曲に相応しい歌を作ることにしました。

I chose the Andromeda Galaxy as a motif because it appears to be distant and unreachable, but is actually destined to collide with our own Milky Way Galaxy in the near future. Far and near, seemingly eternal and actually ever-changing - I felt that these opposing elements were perfect for the relationship between these young lovers.
アンドロメダ銀河をモチーフに選んだのは、遠くて手の届かないように見えて、実は私たちの天の川銀河と近い将来衝突するという運命にあるからです。遠くて近い、永遠に見えて実は変化し続ける - この相反する要素が、若い恋人たちの関係性にぴったりだと感じたんです。
When creating the melody line, I tried to express the awe of looking up at the starry sky and the crush of falling in love. The ascending phrases represent hope and growth, while the descending phrases represent deepening bonds and introspection.
メロディーラインを作る際は、星空を見上げたときの畏敬の念や、恋に落ちたときのときめきを表現しようと心がけました。上昇するフレーズは希望や成長を、下降するフレーズは深まる絆や内省を表しています。
I chose to mix Japanese and English lyrics because I wanted to emphasize the universality of this story. I wanted to create a song that would resonate with people from any culture. The phrase “Kimi wa boku no Andromeda” was left in the English lyrics to convey the beauty of the Japanese sound and the depth of its meaning.
歌詞を日本語と英語のミックスにしたのは、この物語の普遍性を強調したかったからです。どんな文化圏の人にも響く、そんな歌にしたかったんです。「Kimi wa boku no Andromeda」というフレーズは、日本語の響きの美しさと、その意味の深さを伝えたくて英語の歌詞の中に残しました。
I especially like the bridge part. You and I forever, Never say goodbye” I would be happy if this part reminds listeners of their loved ones. And “In the galaxy we tether, To the stars we will fly” Here, I expressed the growth of our relationship on a cosmic scale.
特に気に入っているのは、ブリッジ部分です。「You and I forever, Never say goodbye」この部分で、聴いている人が自分の大切な人のことを思い出してくれたら嬉しいですね。そして「In the galaxy we tether, To the stars we will fly」ここでは、二人の関係が宇宙規模で成長していく様子を表現しました。
Through this song, I hope to complement the world of the novel with music, while also evoking within each listener “someone important,” “a dream you want to fulfill,” or “an unforgettable promise. I believe that I have created a work that will remind you of this song and the world of the novel every time you look up at the starry sky.
この曲を通じて、小説の世界観を音楽で補完しつつ、聴いてくれる人それぞれの中にある「大切な人」「叶えたい夢」「忘れられない約束」を呼び起こせたらいいなと思っています。星空を見上げるたびに、この曲と小説の世界を思い出してもらえるような、そんな作品に仕上げられたと信じています。
