大澤山 常陽院 明圓寺 明法房歌碑 The poem monument of Myouhō

明圓寺（みょうえんじ）は、茨城県石岡市にある浄土真宗のお寺です。

親鸞聖人から明法房（みょうほうぼう）の僧名を授かった弟子の弁円（べんねん）が、鎌倉時代（1240年）、真家村（現在の茨城県石岡市真家）に隠居の為に建立しました。

この参道の入口に、明法房の歌碑があります。

東日本大震災の後、このお寺と深いご縁のある方の復興祈念の寄進により歌碑が建立されることになり、その際にご住職様から揮毫のご依頼を受けました。

身に余る大役で私では力不足ではないかと思いながらも、当時次々と背中を押されるようなことが起こり、見えない力に導かれているように感じてお引き受けする決心をいたしました。震災で犠牲になった方々への祈り、復興への願い、この歌に込められた明法房の心など、大切な思いを込めて揮毫させていただきました。

東日本大震災から10年。犠牲となられた方々のご冥福と、更なる復興をお祈り申し上げます。

これからもこの歌碑を通じて多くの方々に光明がもたらされることを心よりお祈りいたします。

 ◆歌碑には親鸞聖人の念仏を説く姿に触れ改悟した明法房の詠んだ歌が刻まれています。

Myouenji is a Buddhist temple located in Maie,Ishioka City,Ibaraki Prefecture. It was built in Kamakura era (1240)by  Bennen,a disciple who received the name “Myouhō”from the Shinran saint.

At the entrance of the approach,the poem monument of Myouhō is standing.

 This monument was erected by the donation of a person who has a deep connection with this temple to pray for the reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake. And the chief Priest asked me to calligraph the poem for the inscription.

At first I thought that it was a  too big role for me. But on the other hand,something supportive occurred one after another and I felt like I was being guided by an invisible power,so I decided to accept it.  I wrote with precious thoughts such as the the pray for the victims,wish for reconstruction,and the heart of Myouhō in this poem,etc.

It has been 10 years since the Great East Japan Earthquake. I pray for the victims and for further reconstruction.

I sincerely hope that this monument will continue to bring light to many people.
