Kanzaki Somen Noodles / Specialty of Kanzaki City, Saga

The Yayoi ruins of Yoshinogari is located in this area.
It overlooks the Sefuri mountains to the north and the Ariake Sea to the south.
Kanzaki is a peaceful mountain village blessed with the beautiful water of the Jobaru River, which comes from Sefuri mountains.

The history of Kanzaki Somen Noodles goes back 400 years, the secret method of making hand-pulled somen noodle was handed down by Unsui, who was on a pilgrimage to various countries.
In 1874, a noodle-making machine was invented, and this area is also known as the birthplace of machine-made noodles.
